The birth of SEAT, production reaches 10,000 cars per year, and the launch of the SEAT 600.
The Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo, S.A. is founded on May 9th, with the aim of motorising Spain.
SEAT’s first plant, in the Zona Franca District of Barcelona, is inaugurated on June 5th, with an initial workforce of 925 employees. The first SEAT car, a 1400 model, is manufactured there on November 13th. Production output is of 5 cars per day.
SEAT reaches a historical landmark: 10,000 vehicles produced in one year; an average daily production output of 42 cars.
Production on the SEAT 600 model starts on June 27th. The 600 will kick-start a massive motoring era, and become a Spanish symbol of mobility and liberty.
